Class Description
The course is a brief overview of the anatomy and physiology of the eye, major eye diseases affecting seniors, adults and children. The emphasis is to improve knowledge and understanding of various eye conditions and their implications for rehabilitation of adults. There will be brief attention given to the challenging adjustment implications of some conditions.

About the Presenter
B. J. LeJeune
CRC, CVRT is the Training Coordinator at the Rehabilitation Research and Training Center on Blindness and Low Vision at Mississippi State University. She has years of experience working in a variety of direct service positions and also has served as an agency administrator, college instructor and researcher. She has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of North Florida, a Master’s degree in Rehabilitation Teaching (now known as Vision Rehabilitation Therapy) from the University of Arkansas, and has completed all coursework toward a Doctoral Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at Mississippi State University. She has served on multiple state and national committees in the areas of aging, education, vision rehabilitation therapy and dual sensory loss. Ms. LeJeune has led or served on a number of qualitative and quantitative research projects, conducted a number of state program evaluations for older blind programs, and provides pre-service and continuing education training for rehabilitation counselors and blindness rehabilitation staff.
