Regional Vocational Rehabilitation Business Team (ReVRB)

The national network of the 80 public Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) programs supports a united or “one company” approach to working with business customers. The NET, or National Employment Team, is the name given to the 80 consultants from the VR agencies who have been designated as the point of contact for business customers in their agency. Through CSAVR leadership and support, The NET is working to create a coordinated approach to serving business customers through a national VR team that specialized in employer development, business consulting and corporate relations.

ReVRB was organized as a way for the points of contact (POCs) in Region 6 to work together, to support the development and growth of the NET, and to advocate for the NET and the “dual customer” and “one company” approach.

ReVRB members participate in a monthly teleconference and attend at least one face to face meeting per calendar year in order to accomplish the following objectives:

  • Serve as a conduit so that members can share ideas and information related to the NET across agencies and states.
  • Serve as a support group for the members. Members are able to talk about problems and receive guidance and assistance from members who have dealt with similar issues.
  • Increase knowledge and skills by participating in training provided by the Community of Practice. Experts in topics related to the NET join the teleconference and present on topics that are of interest to the members.

ReVRB is currently assisting the Net Curriculum Team in the development of training materials. Region 6 will serve at the pilot group and will be participating in train the trainer in February 2011.

The dual customer approach provides the following benefits to customers of the CSAVR sponsored-NET:

  1. Business has direct access to a pool of qualified applicants and the support services provided b the public VR system and their partners;
  2. VR consumers have access to national employment opportunities and career development resources; and
  3. VR agencies have a national system for sharing employment resources, best practices and business connections
