CHIRP-TX Incubator Participant List
Texas Incubator Summary
November 1, 2007
The Texas representatives on the state-level Incubator met with the members of the national Think Tank to plan the second round of CHIRP training for CIL and VR staff. (See summary in Think Tank section.) After the joint meeting, Incubator members met to discuss state-level goals and indicators of success for the CHIRP program in Texas.
- The “Village” is built and defined—gaps identified, strengths built upon, tasks assigned.
- VR and CILs are a functional part of all kinds of youth networks and agencies; they holistically serve youth.
- All collaborators understand the perspective of each agency and consumer.
- VR sees CILs as a primary resource.
- VR skill sets are broadened by working with CILs.
- Each area (CHIRP group) is unique in how they serve youth.
- All CHIRP projects share with and learn from each other on a consistent basis
- All recognize the benefit of working together
- All have the same goal of reaching and providing services to youth
- All youth get to work, play and grow like everyone else!
CHIRP will work on identifying measures for these indicators.
The Incubator group also discussed whether or not to include other potential collaborators in the second round of training. The first round of training focused on developing between CIL and VR staff.
The group established some criteria for each CHIRP group to use in deciding whether or not to invite other collaborators to the training.
- Each group makes its own decision on participants in their training.
- Go back to mission/goals/readiness/present strength.
- Who is key to goal success?
- Consider the training agenda and the objectives of the training.
