National Supported Employment Consortium (research and technical assistance related to supported employment at Virginia Commonwealth University.)

Association for Persons in Supported Employment (APSE): "a membership organization formed in 1988 to improve and expand integrated employment opportunities, services, and outcomes for persons experiencing disabilities. Employment Training Resource: "Effective Training at Work" - A COURSE FOR JOB COACHES AVAILABLE ON CD-ROM . A new 6-hour course on cd-rom is now available from the National Center for Disability Education and Training, a department in the University of Oklahoma's College of Continuing Education. Designed to expedite learning for new employees in the basics needed for successful training results, Effective Training at Work offers six hours of interactive lessons in more than ten topics. C. Owen Pollard, director of the Center, describes the course as "a powerful learning tool with depth and repetition that is hard to do in a classroom of 25 or more novice job coaches. It is packed with user-friendly exercises and hundreds of videos from experienced job trainers." "An important benefit of Effective Training at Work is its capacity to provide spontaneous and visual feedback to students and supervisors. There is no registration, waiting list or travel cost involved. New employees can start learning right away, any time, anywhere," said Mr. Pollard. The course was developed through contracts from the Oklahoma Department of Rehabilitation Services and will be used to supplement ongoing supported employment classroom training that is provided by the Department under contract with the University of Oklahoma College of Continuing Education.
